About Yvonne

My father was an orphan and brought up in the workhouse in the North East.He used to tell me stories about his life, which were harrowing and so sad. I made a promise to him that I would find his family. I found his siblings pre Internet in 1991: My father met his brothers for the first time when he was 67 and his brothers were 72 and 80.I was not satisfied though as I wanted to find out who his father was. Fast forward to 2017 and I found my grandfather from taking an Ancestry DNA test and analysing the results. I can’t underestimate the effect that it had on my mind: I felt an inner peace, complete, and a sense of relief in just knowing who I was. My passion from that moment on was to give that feeling to others.
I am a qualified accountant ACMA and the skills that I have learned through my accountancy have become very useful to understanding and analysing DNA data. I have an enquiring mind and this, plus my 30 plus years of tree building in traditional genealogy has also proved extremely useful skill in determining a person’s biological parent.

I have solved 40 plus DNA cases and supported individuals through the journey from start to finish. Once I have found someone’s biological parent through Ancestry DNA matches, I then find the person or their descendants and help to navigate the often delicate way to making contact with them.
